Wednesday posting

When I look at Wikipedia it is difficult for me to even tell that their site is edited by ordinary people. Therefore I compliment them on the good job there doing to patrol that particular area of their site. Also I would like to add that I think they have enough content alone that you dont even need to see the people content.

wikipedia patrolling

There are people who “patrol” the wikipedia site. If an error is detected, the finder is able to correct the mistake as soon as possible. They are also able to change something that is false or inappropriate. It is difficult to find the author of the posts because there are many places able to receive postings and many people who post under unknown or anonymous names.

Wednesday

Yes there are people who patrol wikipedia. They scan to search for offensive or false information. Wikipedia does this so that it does not become more like Siegenthaler. The scanning helps wikipedia become a more credible source and this helps with its popularity because as it becomes more credible, teachers and schools will be more friendly about using it

Wikipedia Response

In response to the wikipedia question, I agree that the wikipedia site is doing what they can to monitor the ways that the site is edited and touched upon. From the essay and sample clip dealing with the issue, it is clearly addressed that there is much concern about the way that the site is being handled. Maybe it's not the best thing ti have a site that is as accesible to being edited by virtually anyone but, it should be monitored that best way possible so that still retains credibility.
