My career field is ipc, and I believe it is assertive. In the dance business I am in right now, the field is assertive because it is a competition based dance group, so I am constantly having to point out corrections and flaws in the dancers' unison. I often times have to make bold statements, and be strict and forward with the dancers when it is close to competition time.

Response for Wednesday

My career field is law. Specifically I want to go into corporate law. Within this field, people are very assertive. I will have to provide my reasoning and understanding of the law with regards to different cases. Assertiveness is a large part of this. One has to be strong in his or her opinion and willing to fight to get his or her point heard. There is no room for distance from one's own beliefs in law.

Response for Monday: Propriety on Facebook

Hass notes that some universities are offering courses in Facebook propriety. Why is technology propriety an important issue? Choose either the examples of texting or Facebook and briefly explain what would or wouldn't be proper in those contexts. Can propriety be judged universally, or is it on a case-by-case basis?

Have a good Fall Break!
