Without having both perspectives to this story most people who are not doctors, nurses, or who don't know a lot about the medical field or terms might have been confused. I was confused when medical terms were used and didn't know until I heard both sides to the story. Each discourse community has certain aspects and details that other people who aren't in it might not know. This is why its always important (when telling a story) that there is an outside perspective and not just the perspective of someone within that discourse community.

I agree. You get straight to the point but this shows how each discourse community is so different.

I agree with your point. I beleive a good professional education whether if its a Kindergarden to 12 teacher or a University teacher has to clearly use amplified language for the definition and methods so that their student grasp the concept at all costs. If the teachers don't then they should have their teaching licenses revoked using for their compressed language to their students. As for "Kfrye" comment, it is true that some discourse community may be different but I believed that if the teacher handels the education properly discourse community may not be so different after all.

I agree! Without knowing both sides of the field, a reader could easily get confused by things.
